3. Purchases and taxes

The service operator is an Austrian sole proprietor using the small-business VAT exemption (Kleinunternehmerregelung). Purchases through Paddle are sold by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle calculates any customer VAT or sales tax and identifies the seller on the checkout and invoice. The operator’s exemption does not determine the tax on Paddle’s sale.
